4.07 Reunion

Worf’s reunites with his love interest, the half-human, half-Klingon K’Ehleyr, aboard a Klingon battle cruiser that also carries the Imperial Commander K’mpec. K’mpec is dieing from a slow poison, and suspects that either Duras or Gowron, the two who have petitioned to lead the Council, has poisoned him. Before dieing, K’mpec asks Picard to mediate the official ceremony and to discover the identity of the honorless murderer.

Comments

It is very sad that they killed off K’Ehleyr in only her second appearance. She was a spirited and fascinating character; Suzie Plakson breathes life into her. But it was very dramatic. Sometimes the most interesting, respected and loved characters have to be killed off to make these shows rise above the ‘reset button’ mentality.
