1.15 Too Short A Season

Rating: 1.5

Carnas, the leader on Morden 4, reports that dissidents have taken hostages and are demanding that the negotiations be led by Admiral Mark Jameson, a now elderly man who led negotiations 45 years earlier, negotiations that failed to stave off a long and costly war. In actuality, Jameson got the hostages out, but gave arms both to Carnas and to the enemies of Carnas, launching the war. Now, Carnas is seeking revenge, and has once again taken hostages.

Comments

The actors who play Jameson and Carnas overact horribly in this episode. Either they were directed to do so, or they have no talent – I’ll go for the former.

This is a very forgettable episode.

Nits

Not a complete nit, but when Picard shows Carnas the various stages in the reverse aging of Jameson, one stage that we saw earlier is left out. It makes a big jump and doesn’t look that believable to me.

Quotable Quotes

Data: Their phasers, sir – set to kill.
Picard: Thank you, Mr. Data, I have heard the sound before.
